Requirements:

  • Active RN license (state-specific).
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Cardiology, Telemetry, ICU, or related cardiac specialty.
  • Certifications: BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac pharmacology, cardiac conditions, and telemetry interpretation.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments and respond to urgent cardiac changes quickly.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including monitoring heart rhythms, vital signs, and detecting early signs of cardiac compromise.
  • Administer cardiac medications (e.g., antiarrhythmics, vasodilators, anticoagulants) and monitor for therapeutic response and adverse effects.
  • Operate and interpret cardiac monitoring equipment such as telemetry, EKG/ECG, Holter monitors, and stress test results (as applicable).
  • Assist providers with cardiac procedures such as cardioversion, stress testing, cardiac catheterization prep and recovery, and device placements (pacemakers, stents).
  • Provide post-procedure care including monitoring perfusion, circulation, bleeding, and patient recovery.
  • Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, medications, lifestyle modifications, and discharge instructions.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
  • Respond promptly to cardiac emergencies and participate in rapid response or code blue situations.
