Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown
LocationSeneca, SC
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Full-Time | Onsite | Nights (3x12, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities- Provide acute nursing care to adult patients in observation status and inpatient overflow, including those presenting with chest pain, acute coronary syndrome, cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, CVA/TIA, COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, GI bleed, diabetes, and syncope
- Perform and monitor cardiac telemetry, pulse oximetry, and patient assessments
- Administer Level 3 continuous intravenous infusions and IV push medications per facility policy
- Coordinate testing, procedures, and consultations with specialty services including cardiology, neurology, general surgery, and orthopedics
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-specific plans of care
- Float to like units within the facility or nearby campuses as needed based on census
Required Qualifications- Active South Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Cardiac Stepdown or equivalent unit
- Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR
- Proficiency with Pyxis and/or Omnicell medication dispensing systems
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with permanent pacemaker monitoring, TEE, thoracentesis, paracentesis, or negative pressure isolation
- Prior travel nursing experience; first-time travelers with strong relevant experience will be considered
