Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown

Greenville, SC

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Nights (3x12, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend coverage required

• Provide direct patient care on a Cardiac Stepdown unit for patients with diagnoses including CAD status post CABG, cardiac valve repair, lung cancer status post VATS, and esophageal cancer
• Monitor and manage cardiac drips and insulin drips for post-surgical cardiovascular patients
• Interpret and respond to EKG findings; must pass a pre-start EKG competency exam
• Administer and manage medications using the Omnicell medication system
• Document all patient care accurately using the EPIC electronic medical records system
• Float to other units and campuses as needed based on census, performing only tasks within demonstrated and documented competencies

• Active South Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of recent EPIC EMR experience
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; first-time travelers must have a minimum of 3 years of experience within the Cardiac Stepdown specialty
• Must pass a pre-start EKG competency exam
• Experience with cardiac drips and insulin drips required

• Experience caring for post-surgical cardiovascular patients
• Familiarity with the Omnicell medication management system
• Prior travel nursing experience in a cardiac or progressive care setting

• Pre-assignment orientation and onboarding modules are compensable, with reimbursement available for up to 16 hours of module completion time
