Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or a compact state license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 18 months of combined permanent experience in the cardiac stepdown or related specialty
• Minimum of 18 months of recent stepdown experience; travel nursing experience accepted
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required and active at time of submission
• One reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty from the past 12 months
• Willingness to work every other holiday
• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition testing and safeMedicate during orientation
• Ability to provide all required compliance documentation prior to start

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality patient care to cardiac stepdown patients with complex medical needs
• Monitor patient conditions, assess changes, and respond appropriately to support positive outcomes
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, coordinated nursing care
• Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and document care accurately in the patient record
• Support patients transitioning from higher levels of care while maintaining close clinical observation
• Adapt to rotating shifts and contribute to a reliable, team-focused patient care environment
• Maintain compliance with orientation requirements, testing, and unit-specific procedures
