Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Cath Lab

Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Cardiac Cath Lab environment handling 4–20 cases per day across 6 suites, maintaining a 1:1 care ratio
- Care for patients presenting with diagnoses including STEMI, NSTEMI, heart failure, congenital conditions, TAVR, MitraClip, and peripheral vascular cases
- Read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips and titrate drips as needed during procedures
- Function as circulator for both routine cases (3-person team: 1 RN, 2 RTRs) and emergent call cases (4-person call team)
- Participate in weeknight and weekend call rotations, including primary and backup call shifts (6–8 call shifts per month); weekend call runs Friday 5:30 PM through Monday 6:00 AM on a rotating basis approximately every 6–7 weekends
- Serve as charge nurse when on call, coordinating cases and responding to emergent situations
Required Qualifications- Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
- Experience titrating drips in a cath lab or similar acute care setting
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR; familiarity with GE and/or Philips monitoring equipment
- Ability to pass a drug screen; must comply with a drug-free workplace policy
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience in an Interventional Radiology (IR) setting
- Familiarity with McKesson systems
- Experience working in a high-acuity cath lab with complex cardiac and peripheral vascular cases
