Promotes wellness in the community through various programs. Job Summary: Observes, evaluates, and coordinates the care given to patients in the Special Procedures department. Participates in direct and indirect care of all related activities according to policies and procedures. Essential Functions: Collects relevant data pertinent to patient health or situation. Analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient’s situation. Connects electrocardiogram (EKG) leads and alerts the physician of any changes in patient condition. Records and analyzes hemodynamic parameters and calculates shunt and valve data. Monitors the patient, analyzes electrocardiogram (EKG) and hemodynamic parameters, and reports any changes in the patient’s condition. Operates computerized systems with accuracy and evaluates and reports significant data and findings throughout all procedures for patients of various age groups. Operates specialized equipment including Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, Cardiac Output monitors, Automated Coagulation Timer machine, and others. Collaborates with the team of patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe and humane environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members. Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment teams. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
