Job Title: Cath Lab Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: 2 years of experience required License: Registered Nurse license required Certifications: ACLS and BLS required Must-Have: Epic experience required Charge experience preferred Description: Cath Lab RN, first-time travelers accepted. The role requires 2 years of experience. ACLS and BLS certifications are required. Epic experience is necessary for this position. Shifts will either be 0630-1700 or 0700-1730 based on the start of the first case of the day. 11-12 call shifts are expected each month, including 1-2 weekends of call per month. Common patient diagnoses include NSTEMI, STEMI, cardiac arrhythmias, PAD, and cardiogenic shock. Special procedures performed in this unit include left heart catheterization with and without coronary interventions, right heart catheterization, transesophageal echocardiograms, pacemaker and ICD implants, leadless pacemaker implants and removals, loop recorder implants and removals, pericardiocentesis, IABP and Impella insertions, atherectomy, thrombectomy, and coronary lithotripsy. Temporary pacemaker insertions may also be performed, along with rare PFO closures. Staffing support is provided by respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. The unit utilizes specialized equipment including laser technology, hemodynamic monitoring, and various types of infusion pumps. Candidates must comply with required safety protocols and fit testing procedures.
