Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Catheterization Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 1 year cardiac or critical care experience required; experience in cardiac catheterization and/or interventional radiology preferred. License: Valid state nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Team-oriented attitude and strong work ethic. Description: This is a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory RN position. The shift consists of four 10-hour days with rotating on-call requirements, including weekends and holidays. Working hours are 0700 to 1730 or 0800 to 1830. Ratios will be 1 RN to 6 patients. First-time travelers are accepted for this position. Weekend work is every other weekend. No on-call requirements. The clinician will float within scope to meet facility needs. Block scheduling may be accommodated at the manager's discretion. Local candidates are welcome to apply. Requests for time off will be considered at the manager's discretion. The unit performs between 12 to 18 cases per day and operates three newly renovated labs. The caseload includes high volume, high acuity procedures. Special procedures performed in this lab include TAVRs, Watchman procedures, cardiomems, carotid interventions, impella, CTOs, and EVARs. All staff will work in teams of three, comprising RNs and technicians. RNs will be responsible for circulating, monitoring, and scrubbing procedures. The unit employs advanced technology, including Philips imaging systems and EPIC documentation. Experience in activated clotting time, antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, procedural sedation, and various cardiovascular interventions is beneficial. Infection prevention and management of dysrhythmias are also critical skills for this position. Work will be collaborative with various interdisciplinary support teams including pharmacy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. A successful candidate should possess experience in catheter placement and monitoring, including left and right heart catheterizations. Effective communication and teamwork will be essential in this dynamic environment.
