Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 10 hours (08:00 - 18:30) Experience: Minimum of 1 year in cardiac or critical care; experience in cardiac cath and/or interventional radiology preferred. License: VA or compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Minimum of 1 year of cardiac or critical care experience required. - Experience in cardiac cath and/or interventional radiology preferred. Description: This position involves working in a high-volume and high-acuity Cath Lab unit. The Cath Lab takes STEMI call and operates with a team-oriented, hard-working group. There are three newly renovated labs performing 4 to 7 cases each day. The unit utilizes Philips rooms and has recently upgraded equipment and documentation systems. The RN will be responsible for circulating and monitoring patients for various cardiac procedures. Daily responsibilities include performing 12 to 18 cases, monitoring procedural sedation, and ensuring patient safety. Staff members will be expected to work on call, including weekends and holidays. RNs will work in teams with Techs to scrub, circulate, and monitor cases. The unit is supported by various interdisciplinary teams such as IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services. Team members must be skilled in activation of clotting time, interpreting dysrhythmias, and administering emergency medications. The role requires experience in procedures such as TAVRs, watchman procedures, and percutaneous coronary interventions.
