RN – Cardiac Cath Lab | Roles & Responsibilities

Provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures.

Prepare, assess, and monitor patients before, during, and after cardiac catheterization, device implantation, peripheral vascular, structural heart, STEMI, and stroke interventions.

Administer conscious sedation and monitor patient response throughout procedures.

Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and respond to changes in patient condition using BLS and ACLS protocols.

Assist physicians during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring patient safety.

Operate and assist with specialized Cath Lab equipment, including GE MAC LAB, CUPID, EKOS, Balloon Pumps, Impella, AngioVac, FFR, and IVUS.

Document patient care accurately using EPIC (One Chart).

Participate in rotating on-call coverage, including nights and weekends, as part of the Cath Lab call team.

Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality cardiovascular care.

Required Documents / Certifications

  • Active North Dakota RN License or Compact RN License
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • 2+ years of Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience
  • Experience in a Level II Trauma Center or higher (required)
  • Critical Care (ICU/ED) experience (preferred)
  • Experience with EPIC documentation and Cath Lab equipment
  • Comfortable administering conscious sedation and participating in on-call rotations
