Job Title: Triage Cardiology Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Outpatient Clinic Cardiology Duration: 32 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 1 year of experience working as an RN in an outpatient cardiology clinic setting and triage setting is required. License: RN License required. Certifications: Required certifications must be provided. Must-Have: - Assessment skills - Medication reconciliation - Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG - Obtain vital signs - Pain assessment - Patient Health Questionnaire/History/Allergies - Arrhythmia interpretation - Cardiac arrest/CPR - Hypertension management - AED (Automated External Defibrillator) - Oxygen administration - Follow-up phone calls - Patient education, especially around lifestyle and medication adherence - Collaboration on quality improvement initiatives Description: This position is for a Triage Cardiology Registered Nurse. The role involves caring for cardiology patients who may be preparing for or recovering from medical procedures. Patients may present with complex medical needs requiring careful assessment of symptoms and management of medication changes. The role includes triaging patient calls and messages using established protocols. You will reinforce medication instructions already given by providers. You will assess symptoms and determine the appropriate escalation for care. You will need to escalate urgent cases, such as chest pain, shortness of breath, or signs of stroke. You will support quality improvement initiatives within the clinic. Experience with electronic charting systems is required. The position is primarily ambulatory and does not involve procedural sedation. The ideal candidate will possess strong assessment and patient engagement skills.
