Job Title: Medical Group Operations RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operations - Medical Group Operations Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of hospital and clinic experience, travelers with Rehab/SNF/LTC experience will not be accepted License: Required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Wound packing/wound management for post-op patients - Suture removal - Phone triage for symptoms - Complex pre-op and post-op education - Rooming patients - Order entry - Other clinic duties - EPIC experience Description: This position involves working in a general surgery clinic. The clinic has 4 exam rooms and 2 procedure rooms. You will assist in setting up, taking down, and supporting in-office procedures such as cyst removals, wound packing, biopsies, and I&D. The clinic sees mostly adult patients with very few pediatric cases, primarily older pediatric patients. You will schedule surgeries and follow up with patients after surgery. Daily patient volume can reach upwards of 30-35, although some days may have no scheduled patients due to the physician being in surgery. In those instances, you will still manage orders, see wound packing patients, and perform other necessary duties. There is support staff including a Medical Assistant and a Nurse Lead who may be onsite. The Electronic Medical Record system used is EPIC, with a focus on ambulatory EPIC. If the assigned provider is out of the office, you may assist other providers or float to a nearby clinic. The position does not require weekend rotations, on-call duties, or holiday expectations.
