LanceSoft is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department Manager for a travel nursing job in Littleton, New Hampshire.

Interim Emergency Department Nurse Manager (RN)

Location: Littleton, NH
Duration: 13 weeks (Potential Temp-to-Perm Opportunity)
Shift: Days
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and mentorship to ED nurses, technicians, and support staff.
  • Manage daily Emergency Department operations, staffing, patient flow, and throughput.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, state regulations, and healthcare accreditation standards.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, orientation, competency validation, and staff retention.
  • Monitor and improve ED performance metrics, including:
    • Door-to-provider times
    • Length of stay
    • Left-without-being-seen rates
    • Patient satisfaction
    • Sepsis and stroke care measures
    • Trauma readiness
  • Collaborate with providers and hospital departments to optimize admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Develop and support clinical protocols, triage processes, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
  • Manage departmental resources, including staffing, supplies, equipment, and productivity.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in nursing leadership call rotation and Manager of the Day (MOD) responsibilities.
  • Provide support during off-hours, weekends, emergency preparedness events, and operational challenges.
  • Represent the Emergency Department on hospital committees related to quality, safety, emergency preparedness, trauma, throughput, and professional practice.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive emergency nursing leadership experience required.
  • BSN preferred; equivalent education and experience considered.
  • Strong knowledge of emergency nursing practice, regulatory requirements, quality improvement, and patient flow principles.
  • Experience with staffing management, budgeting, and performance improvement initiatives preferred.

Required Skills & Certifications

  • Active American Heart Association:
    • BLS
    • ACLS
    • PALS
  • Emergency Room skills checklist required.
  • Valid RN license verification required.
  • Supervisory reference from the past year of employment required.
  • TNCC required within 6 months of hire.
  • ENPC required within 12 months of hire.
