Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Profession: Nuclear Medicine Tech Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday-Friday Hours per Shift: 07:00-15:30 Experience: Minimum 1 year in a clinical nuclear medicine setting preferred License: Required State Licensure Certifications: Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) by ARRT or NMTCB required Must-Have: BLS required Description: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures. They will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed. The technologist will help facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The technologist must demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts or at other campuses as required. They should be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. There is an expectation to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure. The technologists will adhere to and maintain the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. They will observe radiation, personnel, and patient safety measures. The technologist will maintain radiation safety protocol while handling radionuclides and pharmaceuticals used in the department. They will complete daily logs and periodic tests as required by the license. Behavior and communication skills must align with the organization's mission, values, and culture. The technologist meets expectations of the applicable competencies including Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. They will demonstrate adherence to core values. Maintaining consistency with administrative and departmental policies is crucial, including appropriate behavior, dress, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability. Promoting staff growth, development, and employee engagement is essential. The technologist will collaborate with management, coworkers, and physicians to create an optimal work environment. Exceptional physician satisfaction will be promoted by providing meaningful assistance to radiologists and referring physicians. All duties will be performed in a manner that protects the confidentiality of patients and does not disclose any confidential information unless necessary for job performance. They should appropriately adapt patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to accommodate unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and other developmental needs. Ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards of care deemed appropriate by regulatory entities is required. The technologist will perform examinations and procedures as needed to assist in patient throughput within the scope of their licenses and certifications. Demonstrating flexibility by working other shifts and at other campuses will be necessary. They will ensure completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in PACS. The technologist must be able to follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser. They will escalate any problems or issues to the PACS administrator if needed. Troubleshooting and reporting any equipment malfunctions to the Director or Manager and/or Biomedical personnel is essential. The technologist will perform other duties as assigned.
