Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Profession: Clinical Professional Specialty: Nuclear Medicine Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday through Thursday Hours per Shift: 10.5 Experience: Minimum of six months of related experience License: CNMT or ARRT (N) License Certifications: CPR certified Must-Have: Minimum of five years travel experience PET experience Experience with Siemens equipment Experience with Epic Description: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist uses multidisciplinary skills to perform a variety of procedures using sealed and unsealed radionuclides and radiation detecting equipment in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Performs technical exams accurately and in a timely fashion. Includes operation of equipment, transferring patients to the exam table, correct positioning of patients for their exam, and providing a safe environment for the procedure. Performs and documents quality control on all equipment to ensure that it is within the calibration date, meets regulatory compliance standards, and verifies it operates within the set specifications. Prepares, administers, disposes of, and documents radiopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, oral contrast, and IV contrast under the direction of the physician authorized user, and according to the protocols set by the Medical Director of the department. Accurately documents and maintains records of shipping, receiving, use, storage, and disposal of all radioisotopes per policies. Accurately documents and maintains room surveys and wipe tests, bioassays, and assists in quality attainment programs. Schedules exams, verifies physician written orders, and sends documentation to medical records. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of rooms and equipment. Stocks supplies and linen as needed. Cross-trains in other department technologies as required for better utilization of personnel. Exercising independent judgment in planning sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field. Coordinates activities of others without supervision. Leads others in similar work without supervision. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Engages with internal customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction. Engages with external customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals and staff. Required Skills and Experience: Excellent time management, multitasking, organizational, and prioritizing skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with a broad spectrum of individuals.
