  • Setting: Level III NICU with a daily census of approximately 30 neonates

  • Orientation: 24 hours
  • Float Requirement: May be required to float within the organization as needed

Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum of 1 year of NICU nursing experience required
  • Experience in Level III or Level IV NICU settings preferred
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications required
  • Strong experience with neonatal respiratory support and ventilator management
  • Proficiency with Epic charting preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity neonatal care environment
  • Comfort with interdisciplinary collaboration and family-centered care

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to neonates, including critically ill infants born as early as 22 weeks gestation
  • Monitor and manage patients with respiratory distress, glucose management needs, and surgical or cardiac concerns
  • Administer and monitor medications including IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
  • Perform and support arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC care, and neonatal abstinence syndrome interventions
  • Manage ventilator settings and respiratory support modalities such as AC/PC, SIMV, CPAP, BiPAP, and PEEP
  • Use SBAR communication to support safe and effective coordination with providers and families
  • Support feeding management, including bottle, breast, gavage, and oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tube care
  • Maintain infection prevention practices and contribute to a highly collaborative neonatal nursing team
