Job Summary:
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) specialty position is located in Oxnard, California. The role involves providing specialized neonatal critical care within a Level 3b NICU environment. Candidates will be responsible for caring for a diverse range of neonatal patients, including premature infants and those with complex medical needs, with a focus on high-quality, compassionate care.
Job Details:
- Location: Oxnard, California
- Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with every other week shift and first to float requirement
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Certifications: BLS Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and COVID Vaccine required
- Education and Experience: Candidates must have 2 or more years of NICU experience; travel experience is preferred
- Qualifications: Valid license to submit, minimum of 2 years NICU experience, experience with Level 3 NICU/having attended deliveries is preferred, and proficiency in Spanish is a plus
- Patient Care: Care for all gestational ages, managing various neonatal diagnoses, including premies, sepsis, and cooling therapy; transfer of patients for surgery is common
- Equipment and Procedures: Utilize electronic fetal heart monitoring, Aveya, bubble CPAP, Vapotherm, oscillator, and medication drips; no ECMO experience required
- Staffing: Charge nurse presence, no nurse aides, and in-house neonatologist available on call
- Additional Notes: Facility fixed notes include unit-specific information such as ratios, equipment, and policy details; floating to Labor & Delivery and postpartum units may be required
