Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Baltimore, Maryland. This role involves providing specialized care in a Level III (preferred Level IV) neonatal intensive care setting for critically ill newborns, including those with congenital anomalies, respiratory distress syndrome, and other complex conditions. The position requires a strong focus on caring for premature and extremely low birth weight infants within a busy, high-acuity environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; Basic Life Support (BLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); STABLE certification; minimum of 2 years of comparable NICU experience in a Level III (preferred Level IV) facility
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Level IV neonatal intensive care; EPIC electronic health record system proficiency; background handling a diverse patient population including prenatal, surgical, and congenital diagnoses
- Additional Information: This role emphasizes care for a patient population comprising newborns with diagnoses ranging from pulmonary hypertension to hydrocephalus. A prior employment history with any Johns Hopkins health system facility must be noted in the work history for rehire verification purposes, including a minimum one-year absence prior to reapplication if previously employed elsewhere in the system.
