Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin or a compact state
  • Minimum of 2 years of total NICU III/IV experience
  • At least 1 full year of Level IV NICU experience
  • Current BLS and NRP certification from AHA
  • PALS certification preferred
  • Experience with post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and invasive/noninvasive ventilation
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and float as needed to care for patients under 12 months of age
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and comfort working in a fast-paced critical care environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality neonatal nursing care for critically ill infants from admission through discharge
  • Monitor and support newborns requiring advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in a Level IV NICU
  • Manage complex neonatal conditions, including post-surgical care, respiratory support, and developmental needs
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate safe, effective patient care
  • Administer medications and treatments, maintain IV access, and support feeding and thermoregulation
  • Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Float to applicable pediatric units as needed based on patient care demands
  • Promote family-centered care and provide education and support to parents and caregivers
