Description

American Traveler is hiring a Level 2 NICU RN for a night shift position in Rochester, NY requiring an active NY RN license and EPIC charting experience.

Details

• Level 2 NICU unit focused on Women's Health rather than critical care, caring for neonates 29-34 weeks and above 33 weeks
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekend requirement
• 13-week contract length with possible extension
• Some floating to Post Partum for baby care
• Must be able to perform baby catch in OR for C-section deliveries
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand prior to consideration
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Experience with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), Bubble CPAP, and HFNC
• Experience with APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and neonatal sepsis work-up
• Experience with phototherapy, blood glucose monitoring, and insulin administration
• Experience with feeding management including gavage, bottle, and breastfeeding support

Additional Information

• Attend high-risk deliveries and provide comprehensive neonatal care
• Provide patient/family teaching and developmental care support
• Assist with procedures such as lumbar puncture and manage isolation precautions/PPE
• Care for conditions including respiratory distress syndrome, hyperbilirubinemia, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO will not be considered
• Previous employees must have completed a 6-month system-wide break in service before returning
• Foreign education verification may be required if applicable
