Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position with the possibility of extension.
Schedule
Night shift, 3x12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Every other weekend is required.
Job Description
We are seeking a highly qualified Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and managing patients with complex medical and surgical needs in a high-volume unit.
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor patients including telemetry and post-operative care.
- Perform interpersonal assessments, interventions, and evaluations.
- Administer medications and manage IVs following protocols.
- Utilize EPIC for charting patient information and care.
- Provide effective care for patients with complex diagnoses and long-term management needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Active New York State RN license (in hand).
- Minimum of 1 year of charge nurse experience.
- Experience with a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7.
- Must possess certification in BLS and NIHSS (valid NIHSS required at submission).
- Telehealth experience and knowledge of telemetry monitoring are required.
- Experience with central line management and various medical devices.
