Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience, ACLS/BLS certification, and a PA or compact RN license.

Details

Work in the Med/Surg-Tele unit of a hospital setting
Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Weekend requirement, likely every other weekend
Patient ratio of 1:5/6
Floating required to all Med/Surg floors and potentially rehab
No on-call requirements
Holiday coverage as needed
Units include 2East (post-op open heart surgery patients), 4East (peritoneal dialysis, respiratory), 3South (cardiac disease and stroke), and 3East (joint replacements, observation, fast turnaround)
May care for COVID-positive patients
Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg-Tele experience required
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS (NIHSS preferred)
Epic charting experience required

Experience with cardiac telemetry, renal failure management, CVA and neurosurgical care, and total joint replacement preferred

Additional Information

Provide direct patient care to a Med/Surg-Tele population including post-cardiac surgery, renal, neurological, and orthopedic patients
Work closely with CHF and Stroke Program Coordinators for patient education initiatives
Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
Travelers will receive 1 day of orientation before being expected to take assignments
Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
Local candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a reduced rate
First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience for this role
