MRI Technologist

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | 3x12s or 4x10s with weekend, holiday rotation, and overnight call coverage required (two 24-hour Sunday call shifts per month)

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures according to established protocols under the direction of Radiologists and physicians
  • Apply principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patients, staff, and others
  • Select proper MRI pulse sequences and scan parameters; confirm quality and accuracy of all patient and procedural data
  • Provide direct patient care and instructions before, during, and after procedures, including IV injections and administration of magnetic contrast agents
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report issues to radiology maintenance or supervisor as needed
  • Contribute to the training and education of new staff and assist in oversight of MRI students
Required Qualifications
  • ARRT certification and registration in Diagnostic Radiology with Advanced MRI Registry (MR) required
  • Minimum of 2 years of MRI experience in a hospital setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (required prior to direct patient care)
  • Ability to work independently at times with strong critical thinking and exceptional customer service skills
  • Familiarity with high-acuity patient populations including pacemaker and anesthesia cases
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institution
  • Experience with GE MRI equipment and Medtronic pacemaker devices
  • Proficiency with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS)
  • Prior travel assignment experience is a plus but not required; local candidates are welcome to apply
