Job Title: MRI Technologist Profession: MRI Tech Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Saturday and Sunday Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a hospital or clinical setting License: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) certification Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required Must-Have: Level I or Level II hospital experience required Description: The MRI Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures. They will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed. The technologist will help facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. Flexibility to work other shifts and/or at other locations as needed or required is expected. The technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance. Participation in quality assurance is necessary. They will resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. The technologist is expected to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure. Basic MRI screening of patients and employees is part of their responsibilities. They will prepare maintenance and repairs, participate in quality assurance, and resolve issues related to MRI safety. The technologist will adhere to, and maintain, the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. Behavior and communication skills must align with the organization's mission, values, and culture. The MRI Technologist will demonstrate adherence to core values and maintain professionalism, reliability, and confidentiality. They will promote staff growth and development through collaboration. The technologist will provide meaningful assistance to radiologists and referring physicians. Adaptation of patient assessments and treatments to accommodate unique needs is required. Compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards of care is essential. The technologist will ensure all exams are scanned and stored correctly in the PACS. They will follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate any issues as needed. Troubleshooting and reporting equipment malfunctions to management and/or biomedical personnel is expected. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
