Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum position requiring 2 years of postpartum experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum unit of a hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 13-week assignment length
  • May float to similar acuity units
  • Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of postpartum experience required
  • BLS and NRP certifications required
  • IV therapy and IV start skills required
  • Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience required
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role, and the second acceptable from a Charge RN (no coworker references accepted)

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive postpartum and couplet care including fundus, lochia, and perineum assessment, episiotomy/incision care, and breastfeeding instruction
  • Care for patients following cesarean section, vaginal delivery, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension
  • Provide newborn care including cord care, newborn assessment, thermoregulation, phototherapy, and discharge teaching to parents
  • Administer medications including antihypertensives, Pitocin, and pain management as needed, with insulin drips and magnesium sulfate therapy preferred
  • Level 1 Nursery experience preferred
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once away from the facility for 6 months or more
  • Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible to be hired as a traveler
  • RTO must be submitted with the contract request and limited to 7 days or less
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract, either in-person or via mailed packet depending on distance from Ohio
