Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Monitor Technician to join a Central Monitoring Unit responsible for remotely monitoring patients across multiple hospitals. The Monitor Technician will continuously observe cardiac telemetry, identify and interpret heart rhythms, and promptly communicate significant findings to clinical staff.
This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and the capability to remain calm while monitoring a high volume of patients in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry rhythms
- Identify and report rhythm changes and abnormalities
- Analyze and interpret ECG/telemetry data
- Add, update, and discharge patients within the GE Carescape monitoring system
- Generate end-of-shift reports
- Maintain accurate communication logs
- Communicate critical findings to nursing staff and clinical teams via phone and mobile applications
- Monitor a large patient population while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
- Participate in virtual patient observation (Virtual Sitter) responsibilities after cross-training
- Utilize computer systems and monitoring technology effectively
