Jackson HealthPros is hiring a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform diagnostic testing on patient samples and analyze test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits to aid physicians in the diagnosis and monitoring of various disease states. The role requires adherence to standardized procedures, preparation of samples, and use of clinical laboratory information systems. The position reports to a laboratory manager or supervisor and supports quality patient care within a hospital setting in Knoxville, TN.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program preferred. Bachelor’s degree may be required by some clients.
  • Valid MLT certification through TN State Licensure, ASCP, AMT, AAB, HHS, or equivalent accrediting agency required. TN state license preferred.
  • One year of clinical laboratory experience required.
  • Experience in chemistry, hematology, and blood bank preferred.
  • Familiarity with Cerner or similar EMR systems preferred.
  • BLS certification as required by client.
  • Meet CLIA military pathway eligibility if applicable (military medical laboratory procedures training course of at least 50 weeks and held the appropriate military occupational specialty).


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performing diagnostic testing in an acute care hospital laboratory.
  • Prior travel or float experience covering multiple lab areas.
  • Familiarity with laboratory workflows on night schedules.


Assignment Details

  • Shift hours: 1800-0630.
  • Schedule pattern: 3x12s with alternating weekends.
  • Position requires floating to other lab locations as needed.
  • Scrub color: gray.
