Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a 37-bed ortho/neuro/spine unit, requiring an active KY or compact RN license and ACLS certification.

Details

  • 37-bed telemetry/medical-surgical unit specializing in orthopedic, neuro, and spine patients
  • Serves as a secondary stroke unit and cares for general cardiac/telemetry patients
  • Patient sources include transfers from PACU, ED, interventional areas, and direct admissions from physician offices
  • Night shift schedule: 7p–7a, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state currently in hand
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation
  • Minimum education: ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
  • Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement care across the nursing process
  • Proficiency with computer systems and clinical applications, or ability to be trained

Additional Information

  • Candidate must provide date of birth (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration
  • Provide copies of certifications and license verification (NURSYS if applicable) for consideration
  • Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, discharge coordination, patient and family education, and delegation to team members
  • Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction
  • No prior nursing experience required — entry-level candidates are welcome to apply
  • BSN is preferred but not required
