Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position at a West Virginia hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and an active WV or Compact license.

Details

• 34-bed Medical/Surgical unit with telemetry monitoring capabilities
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Weekday and weekend shifts required (3 weekends per 4-week schedule)
• Patient ratio of 1:5–7
• Telemetry monitoring, including remote telemetry, is part of the patient care environment
• Charting via Cerner EMR
• 13-week contract with possibility of extension

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS; ACLS is also required and must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Valid driver's license and SSN card copy required
• Candidates with previous probationary actions on their license will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis

Additional Information

• Travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must have a permanent address greater than 100 miles from the facility; those between 75–100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the same rate
• Former permanent employees of the Vandalia Health System (including Mon Health Systems and affiliated facilities) must wait 2 years from their last permanent employment date before being eligible for a travel contract; current employees in any capacity are not eligible
• Attendance is taken seriously at this facility — candidates should be aware that excessive call-offs during a contract are not tolerated
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration
• Preferred skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy care, PICC line management, CVA care, heparin protocols, PCA management, and telemetry monitoring
• Scrubs are not provided by the facility
