Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in Utica, New York. This position involves providing specialized care for adults with diagnoses such as stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, dialysis, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, and pulmonary problems. The nurse will work on a unit with 64 beds in a healthcare facility that requires floating as needed, supporting the care team to meet patient needs.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Day shift from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid drivers license matching the demographics, current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification. Up-to-date resume demonstrating at least 2 years of MS (Medical Surgical) experience with stroke stepdown specialization and documented travel experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with specialty equipment such as IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The unit treats adult patients with common diagnoses including stroke, altered mental status, renal conditions, dialysis, COPD, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, and pulmonary issues. The unit employs a variety of specialized equipment. Shift hours are from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM; block scheduling is not guaranteed. Scrub color is navy blue. The start date for this assignment is 08/24/2026.
