Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor RN Wausau, Wisconsin. This clinical position involves providing care in a fast-paced post-surgical unit that caters to pre- and post-operative adults and geriatric patients. The RN will work within a 40-bed inpatient unit, handling multiple patient needs and collaborating effectively with the healthcare team on a rotating 12-hour day/night shift schedule.
Job Details
- Location: Wausau, WI
- Schedule: Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts, with every other weekend and holiday rotation.
- Required Qualifications: WI Registered Nurse (RN) license, Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC), minimum of 2+ years of Medical Surgical (Med Surg) experience, recent hospital experience, Trauma Level II experience, Epic charting experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree.
- Additional Information:
- Contract length is 13 weeks starting 08/24/2026, with guaranteed hours of 36 hours per week.
- The unit is a fast-paced post-surgical environment with an average of 10-15 admissions per day, and an occupancy of 90-95%.
- Experience in post-surgical care after Pacu is required.
- Nurse to patient ratio: day/pm 1:4 or 5, nights 1:5-7.
- The unit utilizes Epic electronic medical records, medication scanning Rovers, and Alaris pumps.
- Scrub color may vary; GSA hours are not guaranteed during orientation.
- During flu season, declines of flu and COVID vaccinations require mask-wearing at all times.
