Job Summary:
The facility is seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) in Iron River, Michigan. This position involves providing general nursing care primarily for geriatric patients with conditions such as CHF, COPD, and diabetes. The assignment offers a 13-week contract with a focus on day shifts, requiring a dedicated and adaptable nurse to work across multiple departments within a 25-bed Med/Surg unit.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour days, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Current Michigan RN license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification; minimum 2+ years of Med/Surg experience; Associate Degree or Certificate.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree, Emergency Department experience preferred but not required; ICU experience not required.
  • Systems / Skills: Strong charting experience with Epic electronic medical record, CareScape patient monitors, and Pyxis medication dispensing system.
  • Responsibilities: Providing general nursing care for primarily geriatric patients with chronic conditions; float to emergency department within competency is required; may be on call with low censused periods; work every other weekend and holiday rotation.
  • Shift Notes: 12-hour days, variable start and end times from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; float to emergency department within competency required.
  • Additional Notes: Candidates with both Med/Surg and Emergency Department experience are highly preferred. Flexibility to work across departments is ideal, but Med/Surg-only candidates will be fully considered.
  • Scrub Colors: Any colored scrubs.
  • Travel policy: During flu season, decline of flu and COVID vaccinations requires mask-wearing at all times in accordance with facility policy.
