WVU Wheeling Hospital is hiring 3 Med Surg RNs for a 13-week travel assignment!

Location: Wheeling, WV 26003

Pay: Up to $2,814/week (48 hrs) or $2,220/week (36 hrs)

Shift: 3x12 Nights or 4x12 Nights (every 3rd weekend possible)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours/week
Openings: 3 RNs (Duos Welcome!)

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg RN experience
• BLS & NIHSS required
• EMR: Sunrise

Unit Details:

• 52-bed Med Surg unit with all private rooms
• Patient ratio: 1:6–7 (maximum 1:7)
• RN scrub color: Navy blue
• IV Team starts all IVs (RNs assess IV sites)
• Floating to other Med Surg/Oncology units as needed
• Orientation includes general hospital orientation plus 2 full unit shifts

Patient Population:

• Ortho post-op
• Basic neuro post-op (laminectomy, discectomy, spinal fusion)
• General surgery post-op
• COPD, chest pain, pneumonia, cellulitis, and other medical diagnoses
• Hemodialysis patients (Peritoneal dialysis experience highly preferred)

Equipment & Skills:

• Bipap, CPAP, High Flow Oxygen
• Heparin drips, PCA pumps, occasional Lasix and Ativan drips
• No cardiac or insulin drips
• Tele strip reading not required (experience is a plus)
