Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Birmingham, Alabama.

Job Summary:
The healthcare professional position is in the Medical Surgical specialty on a nights shift at a healthcare facility located in Birmingham, Alabama. This role involves providing comprehensive care in a Medical Surgical unit and requires a dedicated and compassionate clinician to support patient recovery and well-being.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 3x12 shift, 18:45 07:15, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS and NIHSS certifications; 2+ years of experience in medical-surgical or orthopedic care; additional experience with post-operative care preferred; located in or willing to work in Birmingham, Alabama
- Preferred Qualifications: Strong time management skills, ability to handle acute patient needs, friendly and compassionate personality with a sense of urgency and resilience
- Unit Information: Approximately 30 beds with patient ratios of 6:1; EMR system used is Cerner
- Personality Fit: Friendly, compassionate, sense of urgency, resilient and able to handle challenging situations
- Dress Code: Scrubs in navy; no fake, gel, dip, or long nails; no ear pods
- Start Date: 08/17/2026
