Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical (MS) nursing is sought for a healthcare facility located in Arlington Heights, Illinois. This role involves providing direct patient care on a medical-surgical unit, including neuro patient populations such as stroke, neurosurgical, seizure, and ENT patients. The position requires adherence to clinical standards and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, 2+ years of experience in Medical Surgical (MS) nursing, including strong proficiency with EPIC charting. Experience with neuro patient populations such as stroke, neurosurgical, seizure, and ENT patients preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in Neuro or neurological patient care.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to other Medical Surgical units as needed.
  • Additional Information: Nurse-patient ratio is approximately 1/5 or 1/6. Orientation will occur on Wednesdays and Thursdays, with 10 hours non-billable and 8 hours dedicated to Epic training and 12 hours on the unit. Orientation hours are scheduled before the start date. Candidates must submit an updated resume, skills checklist completed within 12 months, and one reference completed within 12 months. Credentials must be verified prior to orientation.
