Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 1 year of experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

  • Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15)
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Floating required
  • Epic charting system used

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license in hand
  • Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
  • Experience interpreting dysrhythmias required, with management of dysrhythmias preferred
  • Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Skilled in respiratory care including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care/management
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
  • Epic charting experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care including respiratory support and IV therapy
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days, with no RTO permitted during the first or last week of the contract
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Former staff of University of Chicago Medicine locations (including Ingalls) must have been separated for at least 7 months to return as a traveler
