Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg position requiring prior travel nursing experience and a Louisiana or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute Medical/Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population focused on post-surgical patients including orthopedic and general surgery cases, with a neuro population focus
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend shifts may be required based on scheduling needs
• No on-call requirements
• Floating may be required
• EPIC EMR experience is a plus but not required
• Full-time, 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active RN license in Louisiana or compact license required
• BLS certification from AHA required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• 1 year of experience in Med/Surg nursing preferred
• BSN preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication administration, and care provided
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed
• Temp-to-perm opportunity possible
• Candidates who have previously worked at any CHRISTUS facility (non-travel) must have a 6-month separation period across the entire CHRISTUS Health System before being eligible for this travel assignment
