Job Summary:
The position involves a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical Oncology within an acute care facility located in Madison, WI. The role focuses on providing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and related patient care in a fast-paced environment. The preferred candidate will have at least two years of recent acute care experience in oncology nursing.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Current RN license, minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in oncology settings, BLS certification from the American Heart Association, and certification in Oncology Nursing (ONS or ONCC).
- Skills: Managing port access, administering chemotherapy and blood products, patient education, and managing side effects related to oncology treatments.
- Certifications: RN license, BLS from the American Heart Association, Oncology Nursing Certification (ONS or ONCC).
- Additional Information:
- Must have inpatient oncology experience and familiarity with chemotherapy and immunotherapy procedures.
- Pass/Fail cardiac interpretation exams are required prior to start, with two attempts allowed. A cardiac interpretation review course certificate must be submitted if the second attempt is failed.
- Floating to catheterization laboratory or infusion center may be required as needed.
- Minimum of two years of recent acute care experience in oncology nursing.
- Traveler must meet the criteria for telemetry exam passing scores.
