Travel Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - $60 to $64 per hour in Rockford, IL

Mercyhealth Javon Bea Hospital is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join its laboratory team on the night shift. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in Hematology and Blood Bank testing and be qualified to perform high-complexity laboratory testing in accordance with CLIA regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented professional committed to delivering accurate and timely diagnostic results that support exceptional patient care.

• Collect, process, and analyze patient specimens following laboratory policies and procedures.
• Perform laboratory testing in Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, and Microbiology using both automated and manual methods.
• Analyze and verify test results prior to reporting to ensure accuracy and validity.
• Monitor and meet established turnaround times while appropriately documenting and communicating critical results.
• Utilize laboratory information systems to receive patients, process orders, enter results, and generate required reports.
• Perform quality control, proficiency testing, and quality assurance activities.
• Interpret and troubleshoot quality control results to ensure accurate testing outcomes.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, calibration, and minor troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation.
• Participate in method validation, instrument evaluation, and implementation of new testing procedures.
• Maintain competency in existing and newly introduced laboratory methodologies.
• Assist in training and mentoring new laboratory staff and students.
• Adhere to all laboratory safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
