Medical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Laboratory Technologist Opportunity
Conflux Systems is hiring an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) for a 13-week travel assignment in Atlanta Georgia. This is an excellent opportunity for laboratory professionals with strong hematology and core laboratory experience who thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume hospital environment.
Please Note: No local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex laboratory testing in hematology and core laboratory departments.
- Analyze and report accurate laboratory results following established quality standards.
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers, including Sysmex and CellaVision systems.
- Perform manual differentials and accurately identify abnormal cell morphology.
- Process and evaluate challenging specimens, including turbid samples, platelet clumps, and abnormal cell findings.
- Maintain quality control and ensure compliance with laboratory policies and regulatory standards.
- Document results accurately using the Cerner laboratory information system.
- Collaborate with pathologists, physicians, and healthcare teams to provide timely diagnostic information.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technologist.
- Experience working in hematology and core laboratory required.
- Recent Cerner experience required.
- Experience using Sysmex and CellaVision systems required.
- Experience performing manual differentials and interpreting abnormal hematology findings.
- Previous experience in a large acute care hospital (600+ beds) strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a high-volume laboratory with minimal orientation.
Required Certifications
Candidates must hold one of the following certifications:
Important Candidate Requirements
- Facility will only consider Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS) and Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLT).
- Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT Technician level) will not be considered.
- Experience with neonatal laboratory testing is highly preferred.
- Must be comfortable handling complex specimens and high daily testing volumes.
