Job Title: Clinical Lab Scientist Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Blood Bank Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 10 Hours Experience: 2 Years License: Valid State License Required Certifications: ASCP-BB Preferred Must-Have: - Recent Blood Bank Experience (within 2 years) - Epic Experience - Trauma Level I Experience - Experience in a large hospital (300+ beds) - Ability to work independently at night Description: The Clinical Lab Scientist position requires extensive experience in Blood Bank procedures. Candidates must be seasoned travelers with a strong background in blood banking. Experience with any blood bank software is essential. The role involves processing a high volume of samples each day. Candidates will see 30-50 samples daily, focusing on type/screen and crossmatch procedures. The position requires independent work during night shifts and may include rotating weekends and holidays. Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered. Candidates should be comfortable working alone and confident in their skills. Essential skills include ABO/Rh/Antibody screen and identification, crossmatching, and quality assurance processes. Experience with automation and various laboratory procedures in a fast-paced environment is preferred. The ability to handle high-volume workflows while ensuring accuracy is critical for the position. Candidates must be proficient in specimen handling and reporting test results. All applicants must have a demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment. Travel experience is expected, with multiple assignments in blood bank settings preferred. Candidates should ensure compliance with all laboratory safety protocols and standards.
