Job Title: Clinical Lab Scientist Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Blood Bank Duration: 24 Weeks Shift: Mid 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years of Blood Bank experience required. License: Active state license required. Certifications: ASCP*, CLS, CA CLS license. Must-Have: - Blood bank experience. - Softbank experience. Description: The Clinical Lab Scientist will work within the Blood Bank setting. Candidates must have extensive experience in blood banking procedures. Experience in ABO/Rh/Antibody Screen & ID, Antibody Typing, and Crossmatch is required. Knowledge of specimen processing and blood product modification is preferred. Candidates should be familiar with electronic cross-matching and hazardous materials protocols. Management or lead experience is a plus. Qualifications include proper labeling, quality assurance, and reporting of test results. The position involves specimen receipt, transport, and proper disposal of blood products. Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols is essential. The role may require floating within various departments based on census and unit needs. Additional skills in thawing/cooling of blood products and transfusion reaction workup are beneficial. This position requires compliance with COVID-19 and flu vaccination mandates.
