Job Title: Medical Technologist Profession: Medical Technologist Specialty: Lab Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 5x8s rotation Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of previous experience in this role or similar License: Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science Certifications: Certification from a recognized national certifying agency (ASCP or NCA) preferred Must-Have: Completion of an accredited Bachelor's Degree program in medical technology, medical laboratory sciences, or clinical laboratory sciences. Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions. Six months of experience in a medical laboratory setting. Experience with Beckman Coulter equipment, with AU system experience preferred. Candidates with experience in Sunquest LIS and automation are preferred. Description: Under general supervision, performs routine and complex analytic procedures on blood and/or other body fluids or specimens. Involves manual techniques or the use of laboratory instruments and information systems. Required skills include communication, technical proficiency, theoretical knowledge, phlebotomy, and laboratory instruments. Additional skills include experience with information systems and manual techniques.
