Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Technologist Profession: Medical Laboratory Specialty: Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Technologist Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Variable - 8 hour shifts, days, evenings, or nights Hours per Shift: 32 guaranteed hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required License: Must be board eligible and complete board certification within one year of employment Certifications: Certification at MT by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or CLS by National Accrediting Agency (NCA) within one year of employment Must-Have: - Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or a related field required - One to three years of related or progressively more responsible experience in microbiology - Clinical laboratory instrumentation experience - Laboratory generalist skills - Capable of working independently and providing direction to others Description: Under the direction of the laboratory manager, is responsible for performing laboratory tests. Responsible for quality control procedures. Communicates effectively with physicians, nurses, and patients. Candidates must provide immunization records for hepatitis A, hepatitis B, varicella, measles, mumps, rubella, T-Dap, and polio or demonstrate immunity through titers or historical shot records. Additional documentation required includes a copy of a photo ID, a copy of the social security card, professional license and/or certification, education or transcripts, background check results, and drug screening results.
