Job Title: Medical Lab Technician Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Medical Lab Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years of recent MLT experience required License: Active Compact or State License in Hand required Certifications: AHA BLS and ASCP required Must-Have: - 2 years of experience in specialty required to submit for consideration - Must be willing to accept an 84 hours per two weeks scheduling (one-week 3x12, next week 4x12) - Must work either a major or minor of every holiday Description: A medical lab technician position is available for qualified candidates. Candidates must have over two years of recent experience in medical laboratory technology. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is required. The technician will perform various laboratory tests and procedures, including but not limited to arterial blood gas analysis, cardiac enzyme tests, hormone and thyroid testing, and therapeutic drug monitoring. Responsibilities include specimen collection, transport, and reporting test results. Quality assurance and control measures must be adhered to. Candidates must be able to work a 36/48 hour schedule bi-weekly. Flexibility to adjust to varying patient ratios is necessary, based on census and call-ins. Submission of references is required to validate prior professional experience.
