Microbiology Technician Laboratory Microbiology Tech 9 weeks Day 4x10-Hour 10 hours Minimum 2 years of experience required State or Compact license required Certifications: ASCP, ASCP MT, ASCP-BB, AMT, ABB or equivalent Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of experience in microbiology - Clinical screen evaluation required - Travel experience preferred Description: Traveler will work primarily in microbiology. The unit does not accept first-time travelers. Candidates will undergo a clinical screen to determine fit. If they pass, their details will be sent for final approval. The traveler is expected to work every third weekend. There is no call requirement. Floating may be required within the facility as needed. If one major holiday occurs during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays occur, the traveler must work both. If three major holidays occur, the traveler should be prepared to work two of them. Compliance is required to start on time. If not compliant by the deadline, the start date may be pushed back by two weeks due to orientation scheduling. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate. Full compliance is necessary before starting. All compliance documents must be submitted prior to the start date. Candidates must finalize all requests for time off during submission. No request for time off can be made post-offer or onsite. Emergency leave may be considered within set limits. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. Candidates must complete core items or labs promptly after contract signing. Modules completed during orientation may vary by specialty, and are recorded via transcripts.
