This role requires expertise in a variety of laboratory procedures, especially with experience in blood bank operations. The selected candidate will be working in a dynamic healthcare setting utilizing Cerner as the EMR system.

Key Responsibilities of the Medical Laboratory Technician
  • Adheres to UNIVERSAL PRECAUTIONS standards
  • Understand and comply with policies and procedures
  • Dependability & responsibility (attendance, punctuality, follows instructions)
  • Proficient in venipuncture skills
  • Performs daily quality control & maintenance per guidelines
  • Completes testing in a timely, concise manner
  • Operation and troubleshooting of Chemistry, UA, Hematology, and Coag Analyzers
  • Blood bank testing (type, RH, antibody screening, compatibility testing, QC)
  • Exhibits courtesy and professional conduct with patients, lab staff, and physicians
  • Performs miscellaneous testing (serological/micro testing, microscopic, etc.)
  • Communicates important information with coworkers, supervisors, and physicians
  • Maintains overall quality of performance and conduct

Requirements of the Medical Laboratory Technician
  • Credentials as MT, MLT, or MLS
  • Experience with Cerner EMR system
  • Experience in blood bank operations preferred
