Intensive Care Unit Medical Nurse position available at a critical care unit in Saint Augustine, Florida. This role involves providing patient care within a designated ICU, supporting various specialized procedures, and adhering to unit-specific protocols. The assignment offers a nights shift schedule with extended hours, focusing on delivering high-quality critical care to adult patient populations.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications; active clinical practice in critical care nursing; located in Florida or willing to commute; at least 2 years of clinical experience in a critical care environment.
- Schedule: Nights, 1900-0730, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications; 2+ years of ICU nursing experience; current clinical license in the state of Florida or compact license; ability to float to units such as ICU, Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit, and Medical-Surgical as needed.

- Float: Float rotation may be required, including assignments to ICU, Stepdown/Progressive Care, and Medical-Surgical units.
- Additional Information: Candidate will be responsible for managing ventilators, vasopressor medications, Impella devices, and intra-aortic balloon pumps. Scrub attire includes navy scrubs and closed-toe shoes. Refer to the unit-specific procedures such as vasopressor administration, EKG performance, and sheath disconnection protocols. Orientation lasts 2 days with no pre-assignment testing required.
- Vaccination Policy (Seasonal Influenza): Medical exemptions are permitted for the 20252026 season with appropriate documentation. Exempted candidates must submit an exemption form and complete a required module if declined vaccination.
- Interview Process: Required interview with the unit manager.
- Compliance & Onboarding: The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) review process may take up to 14 business days.
- RTO Policy: No requests permitted within the first 2 weeks; maximum of 8 days RTO for a 13-week assignment.
- Travel Requirements: No travel required for this position.
