Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant Profession: Medical Assistant Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: Full-time Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday - Friday) Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical setting. License: Must maintain certification as a Medical Assistant. Certifications: Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) Must-Have: - At least 2 years in a formal Medical Assistant curriculum. - Special training for Medical Assistants. Description: The Certified Medical Assistant in Behavioral Health performs clinical support procedures under the direct supervision of an Office Nurse or Physician. This job description does not imply that these are the only duties performed by this employee. The Medical Assistant should reflect professionalism through personal appearance and attitude. Cleanliness, neatness, and the ability to handle stressful situations calmly are required personal qualities. A caring nature and enjoyment of interacting with patients are also essential. Emotional stability is necessary given the nature of the work. Discretion and confidentiality regarding all matters relating to the practice, its employees, and patients are mandatory. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Performing blood draws, injections, child immunizations, lab tests, and other pertinent procedures within the MA certification scope. Assisting the physician in examinations, which may include taking blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration. Keeping exam rooms clean and stocked with necessary supplies. Handling patient phone calls as directed by the physician. Providing instructions to patients as guided by the physician. Requisiting supplies as needed to maintain adequate stock. Assisting with the maintenance of medical records and completing necessary documentation as requested. Escorting patients to and from exam rooms, preparing them for exams, and providing assistance during procedures. Assisting with nursing procedures as directed by the physician. Collaborating as a team member and maintaining flexibility in daily tasks. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality care and support to patients.
