Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Pulmonary night shift position requiring AL or compact RN licensure and 2 years of experience.

Details

  • Work on a 36-bed telemetry unit specializing in diagnosing and treating a wide range of respiratory disorders
  • Care for patients and families managing lung diseases or injuries
  • Maintain a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Collaborate with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, care management, and pharmacy departments
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Work every other weekend and required holidays
  • Willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed
  • 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
  • Uses Meditech EMR system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Alabama or Compact) required; no temporary licenses accepted
  • Current BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross
  • Associate degree in nursing required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, though 18 months will be considered
  • 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or Pulmonary specialty required
  • NURSYS license verification required
  • Strong foundation in general medicine and respiratory care skills required
